Craftin' Instead of Cleaning - Again!

I am battling a sore throat, have company coming tonight and still haven't made dessert or cleaned my dining room - but I did make these cards for my husband and daughter!  Happy Holidays to all!

I'd Rather Be Craftin' than Cleaning!

When I should be cleaning my house and getting ready for company, I'd rather be creating!  My friend, Daidra ordered a wreath and wasn't in a hurry for it, but I couldn't help myself.  I had to work on it.  She asked me to make a larger version of a small one I sold at the recent Artisan's Gift Show on 12/7.  As I started making it, I realized the flowers on the small wreath looked lost on the larger wreath.  It took me a while but I created these GIANT flowers for her wreath.  I hope she likes it!

Thankful for You

Here's the last card from the past "Thanks A Lot" card class.  I just love the watercolor look of the leaves, accomplished with this "two step" stamp set.  The outlines are stamped separately from the solid leaf stamp.  I added more colors to the leaves with daubers to get multi colored leaves.

Yet Another Thanksgiving Card!

Here's the next to the last card from the past "Thanks a Lot" card class.  The colors were inspired by a Victorian house I saw.

The house was a deep purple with white wood work and it was decorated with orange and yellow mums.  I loved how the colors popped.

Not Your Typical Thanksgiving Colors

Here is another card made in the "Thanks A Lot" class.  I just love the colors (Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry) in the Stampin'Up! "Eastern Elegance" Designer Series Paper.  I couldn't resist using 2 of the patterns from the pack to make this card.  I cut the leaves from the SU "Autumn Accents"
die and folded them down the middle to give them a little depth.  The sentiment was cut from the SU "Tags 4 You" stamp set cut with the matching label punch. The white background is embossed with the "Beautifully Baroque" folder.  I added a "Vintage Faceted" button for bling and boom - done!

Got My Shine On

Here's another card we made in the recent "Thanks A Lot" class.  It is simple, but elegant.  The black background is embossed with the Stampin'Up! "Modern Mosaic" folder.  The maple leaf is cut with the SU "Autumn Accents" die from SU Gold foil paper and embossed with the SU "Pretty Prints" folder.  The addition of the SU "Very Vintage" button finishes this card.  Super simple, super quick!

Pumpkin Treat Holder

Here's a picture of the cute treat holder we made in the "Thanks A Lot" class yesterday.  Thanks to Stampin'Up! demo, Annette Stewart who created this cute party favor! It is just a simple box covered with 6 ovals cut from the oval Sizzix die. The ovals are embossed with the "Beautifully Baroque" Stampin'Up! embossing folder and sponged in the same color ink as the "Pumpkin Pie" paper.  The leaves were cut with the Stampin'Up! Autumn Accents Sizzix die and one is embossed with the SU "Square Lattice" embossing folder.

Festive Flurry Holiday Card Class

Why do I always forget to take pictures during the class?  Here's a picture of all the cards we made today utilizing the "Festive Flurry" bundle (Festive Flurry stampset and matching framelets) and the "Winter Frost" Designer Series Paper.

Happy Birthday, Selma

Here's a card I made for my friend, Selma who is the owner/creator of Woolly Boo - organic bedding for children (http://woollyboo.com/).  Wish I was as young and brilliant as she! I cut the stamped flowers out, ran them underwater, crumbled them and unfolded them.  When they dried, they were almost like paper sculpture.

I Am Flipping For Flip Cards

You know how kids are with a new toy?  Yeah, well that's how I am with the new Circle Card Framelet.  Here is yet another flip card that I made.  A friend asked me to make an Anniversary Card for her and this is the result.  Let me know what you think!  We'll be making a few flip cards in the Festive Flurry Holiday Card class this Sunday.

I Love Creating with The "Flower Shop" Bundle

Here's a card I've made with the "Flower Shop" stamp set and coordinating punch.  It was so easy to make 20 swaps for the recent demonstrator "Fall Fest" that I just attended.  I hope you won't get tired of the cards I'll be making with this set because I love it!  LOL

You can see I will be making use of the new Circle Card Flip Card Framelet.  I can't seem to get enough of it!  LOL!

I'm Back!!

So sorry that I haven't been posting!  My computer crashed and I had to get a new one, then my phone died.  Had to get a new one.  Then I lost the battery for my camera!

Anyway, I'm back and ready to share.  I love the new Flip Card framelet and Envelope liner framelet.  Here's a card I made for my free Make n Take Day, this Saturday, 9/14 at 4pm.

Another "Sent With Love" Sample

I just love the colors of the "Sent With Love" bundle.  When asked to create a graduation card for a friend, I felt inspired by the sentiment in the "Word Play" stamp set - "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams" and thought it fit well with the airplane image in the "Sent with  Love" stamp set.  I just think that set is so versatile!  After April 30th, you won't be able to purchase it anymore. If you love it as much as I do, head over to my website and place your order!

More "Flower Fair" Pages

Here are a few more pages for my friend's gift.  It was so easy to use the "Flower Fair" Simply Scrappin' kit and make layouts that were different from each other.  The kit includes coordinating cardstock, pretty designer paper and embellishments like stickers and ribbon.

Baby Love!

My friend just had a baby girl - oh joy - they have the cutest clothes!! I am working on a 8x8 album to give her as a gift.  Here are a few pages.  I used some retired Stampin'Up! paper in Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette and the Cricut cartridge "Baby Steps" to create the baby carraige on the first set of pages.
Remember when my friend, Cindy D. cut some baby t-shirts on her Cricut for me?  I used them along with cut outs from the Stampin'Up! "Baby Tees" wheel for the second set of pages.

On the third set of pages, I used the Stampin'Up! "Flower Fair" Simply  Scrappin' Kit.  It was so easy because the papers, cardstock and stickers are all in the kit.

Masculine Card

It is always a challenge to create a masculine card when my taste runs to frilly, vintage stamps.  I made this card using 2 stamp sets - "Blue Ribbon" and "You're Amazing".

Did You Know....

Did you know that I take orders for personalized cards?  Let me know the occasion and I will create a card or two for you!  Here is the latest card ordered by my friend Karen.  (Prices are better than Hallmark and lot more creative!) I just love this color combination.  It is hard to tell but there is some subtle bling provided by adding Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  (You may be able to see that when you click on the photo to zoom in).

How Many Artists Does It Take To Make a Card??

In this case - 3!  Not to mention how many hours.  I was lucky to be able to borrow the Cricut Catridge, "Game Time" from my friend Lorena.  She and her sister, Cindy helped me cut out the sticks and sign.  Who knew it would it would be so time consuming! Plus, earlier attempts had us abandoning the idea of punching out all the individual holes in the net of the Lacrosse sticks.  It didn't look as clean that way.  It was Cindy's idea to sponge the net to highlight the holes without punching them out.  I thought cutting the sign  would be easier, but it was just as intricate and time consuming. I hope I don't receive requests for Lacrosse themed cards in quite sometime!
Thanks again to Lori and Cindy!

Wonderful Surprise from Cindy!

I received this awesome surprise in the mail today!  My friend Cindy is so sweet.  She knows I will be working on a baby scrapbook as gift next week at our Scrapbook Weekend (3 full days and nights of scrapbooking and card making -can't wait! ).  She graciously cut out lots of tiny baby onesies for me to use since she had a good baby Cricut catridge.  Cindy is so talented and sent the die cuts inside this adorable card that she designed.  I love it!  Thanks so much, Cindy! PS, if you want to find out more about the weekend, click onto my Stampin'Up!  website and look for my event calendar.

2 Hours???

This card took me 2 hours to create!  Maybe because I watched 5 back episodes on my laptop of a show I just discovered - yes- a guilty pleasure.  Don't judge me - I am watching a show geared to the female demographic of 18 - 35 year olds! I am enjoying "Beauty and the Beast" on the CW.  This is not your Disney version.  LOL!  Here's the promo pic, can you tell why I like this show?

What Do You Think?

Thank God for my friend Karen - she orders cards from me every month. Her orders help me fund my purchases of even more stamping supplies and force me to exercise my creativity. It is like getting an assignment in class! I get a little direction and then go off to produce.  I try not to repeat designs.  Let me know what you think of these birthday cards.

Nothing Like the Last Minute

I am teaching a "Thanks a Lot" card class tomorrow. Participants will make 2 each of 4 different Thank You card designs.  Well here it is at 2:13am, oh yeah - it is already tomorrow - and I just finished the designs! I had planned to finish up this afternoon but I took a trip down memory lane instead.  Friends of mine told me they were going to be in NYC to view the closing show for the "Jump" Regional dance competition.  I "jumped" at the chance to join them!   My daughter danced competitively before college and I loved going to watch her dance.  I really miss those days and the fun times I had with the moms of her teammates.  (We were NOT like those insane Dance Moms from Abby Lee Miller dance center who give real dance moms a bad rep!) So my class will include the bicycle thank you from the other day and these 3.  All the stamps and the Designer Specialty Paper are FREE items that can be earned with each $50 purchase of Stampin'Up! merchandise until March 22.  You can check out other free items in the Sale-a-bration Catalog at the end of my blog.
